Antibacterial Applications of Electroless Green-Ni-P-ZrO2 Nanocomposite Coatings
In current experimental work, the electroless Ni-P-ZrO2 /Green-Ni-P-ZrO2 nanocomposite deposits were deposited on the mild steel (AISI 1040) substrate and further analyzed by means of SEM /EDAX/XRD instrumental methods. The ZrO2 and green (turmeric) nanoparticles are uniformly embedded into electroless Ni-P matrix and moreover, the as-coated Ni-P-ZrO2/Green-Ni-P-ZrO2 depositions had amorphous structures, while heated depositions transitioned from nebulous to crystalline atmosphere. These well-developed coatings were too tested for antibacterial resistance against a gram-positive strain named as Bacillus Cerus and antibacterial results revealed that only Green-Ni-P-ZrO2 nanocomposite coatings exhibited significant antibacterial resistance.
