BIOLOGICALLY ACTIVE COMPOUNDS SYNTHESIS AND STRUCTURAL STUDIES OF MIXED LIGAND TRANSITION METAL NI(II) COMPLEXES

Two ligand and one metal called mixed ligand complexes of Ni(II) have general molecular formula is [NiPClINAP) (aa).2H2O]; where PClINAP is sodium salt of p-chloroisonitrosoacetophenone and aa is a L- amino acid have been prepared. The complexes have been characterised by several physico- chemical techniques such as elemental analysis, molar conductance determination, magnetic susceptibility measurements, electronic absorption spectral studies, IR studies and TG-DTA analysis. On the basis of results the bonding and structure of the complexes discussed in details. The Mixed ligand metal complexes have been screened for their biological activity against selected microbial strains.
