Wastewater is of serious concern all over the world. Categorically, Municipal wastewater occupies a big percentage of total wastewater. Several methods were introduced for treatment and many methods are still in the research phase. High cost and low efficiency possess hurdles inapplicability of advanced wastewater treatment technologies in middle and lower-income countries. In this study, a low cost and efficient biofilm reactor were evaluated as an improved method to treat municipal wastewater. A lab-scale biofilm reactor was designed in which coconut shells (BRC) and gravels (BRS) were in

This study quantified the degree of heavy metal contamination and ecological risk potential from metals concentration in urban lake sediment. The analytical method involved six geochemical indices (enrichment factor (EF), geo-accumulation index (Igeo), contamination factor (CF), degree of pollution, modified degree of contamination, & pollution load index (PLI). Sediment samples were analysed using ICP-MS. The results revealed that EF and Igeo of trace elements were in the order of Pb > Cr > Cu > Mn > Ni, whereas the order of heavy metals was Na > K > Fe > AL. Na an

Epoxidized Trimethylolpropane esters (ETJO) based Jatropha curcas oil were produced by epoxidation process of TMP esters (ETJ) with performic acid (HCOOOH) formed in situ by the reaction of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) and formic acid (HCOOH). The effect of several reaction parameters such as hydrogen peroxide to TMP esters molar ratio, formic acid to TMP esters molar ratio, temperature, and time reaction on the epoxidation process as well as on the oxirane oxygen content (OOC) and iodine value of the epoxidized TMP esters were examined. The epoxide group of ETJO was analyzed by using Fourier T

The research work on the kinetics of substitution reactions between amino acids and chromium(III) complexes are not dynamically studied by researchers. These substitution reactions are feasible to study in aqueous medium under in acid and alkaline conditions. So an opportunity is there in the research for the study of kinetic reactions with different chromium(III) complexes by using amino acids as ligands. Also good prospect is there in the preparation of complexes with chromium(III) and amino acids and studies of their kinetics, spectral properties as well as speciation. In this review pap

The present research work was conducted to determine the extent of cholesterol, acid value, and peroxide value from six vegetable oils (Tena soybean, Tena sun flower, Sunny soybean, sunny sunflower, Nigger and palm oil) which are commercially available at Hossana markets. Cholesterol content were estimated spectrochemically using ultra violet visible spectrophotometer; whereas acid and peroxide values titrimetrically using potassium hydroxide (KOH) and sodium thiosulfate respectively. Results of analysis revealed that the cholesterol contents varied from 25.6 ± 0.75 to 217.4 ±
