Plastic Pollution: A Growing Environmental Crisis

Plastic pollution is now a major worldwide problem with detrimental effects on the environment, the economy, and society. This review integrates recent studies and identifies important knowledge gaps to offer a comprehensive analysis of the causes, effects, and solutions of plastic pollution. The widespread use of single-use plastics, inappropriate waste disposal, and industrial production are the main causes of plastic waste, according to the paper. With a focus on the production and persistence of microplastics and nanoplastics, it investigates the routes by which plastics spread in both ter

Antibacterial Applications of Electroless Green-Ni-P-ZrO2 Nanocomposite Coatings

In current experimental work, the electroless Ni-P-ZrO2 /Green-Ni-P-ZrO2 nanocomposite deposits were deposited on the mild steel (AISI 1040) substrate and further analyzed by means of SEM /EDAX/XRD instrumental methods. The ZrO2 and green (turmeric) nanoparticles are uniformly embedded into electroless Ni-P matrix and moreover, the as-coated Ni-P-ZrO2/Green-Ni-P-ZrO2 depositions had amorphous structures, while heated depositions transitioned from nebulous to crystalline atmosphere. These well-developed coatings were too tested for antibacterial resistance against a gram-positive strain named a

Antioxidants and Phytochemical Analysis of Drumstick Leaves (Moringa oleifera)

Drumstick Leaves (Moringa oleifera) are one of the most useful tropical plants. It leaves a valuable source of nutrition for people of all ages. Nutritional analysis indicates that Drumstick leaves contain essential, disease-preventing nutrients. This research was aimed at analyzing phytochemical and non-enzymic antioxidants in Drumstick Leaves. Methods: The photochemical analysis of the leaves was done through phytochemical screening and the non-enzymic antioxidant activity of ascorbic acid in Drumstick leaves was analyzed using Ultraviolet-Visible spectrophotometry (UV-VIS) and Fourier Trans

Estimation of the Percentage of Some Heavy Metals in Vegetables in the Market of Anbar Governorate, Iraq

The problem of food pollution is one of the most important problems facing and challenging the human being, due to the health problems and diseases that it causes. Vegetables are rich sources of vitamins, minerals and fiber and have beneficial effects as antioxidants. Vegetables contain essential heavy metals that the human body needs. However, increased levels of these heavy metals can cause many diseases. Accordingly, the current study aims to study the level of some heavy metals (iron, chromium, nickel, copper, cadmium and lead) in some vegetables (Cucumber, Eggplant, Zucchini, Tomatoes, Ra

Synthesis of electroless Ni-P/Ni-P-W nanocomposite platings and sustainable tribological characteristics

The tungsten (W) is an exceptionally strong refractory metal of group VIB of periodic table and has the highest melting point, the lowest coefficient of thermal expansion with high neutron capturing capability and can remove sulphur from crude oil. Therefore, considering environmental, corrosion and tribological applications the Ni-P/Ni-P-W nanocomposite depositings (Na2WO4, amount 0.5±0.01gpl and size 40-150 nanometer, pH=05.6, thicknesses from 03.2 to 14.7 micronmeter) were produced on mild steel (MS; AISI1040 grade) substrates as an alternate of hard chrome platings. The SEM, EDAX, and XRD
