Research Journal of Chemistry and Environment (ISSN:0972-0626) is a monthly peer-reviewed scopus-indexed journal from 2007 to Present. The publisher of this journal is the Journal of International Congress of Chemistry and Environment. RJCE is committed to gathering and disseminating excellent research achievements. The journal welcomes all kind of research/review/abstract papers regarding Engineering subjects including Earth and Planetary Sciences, Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, Agricultural and Biological Sciences, Renewable Energy, Biochemistry.
This study was initiated with the aim of designing home-made activated carbon filters. These filters should be able to eliminate totally the chemical oxygen demand (COD) in surface water, with a view to alleviating water shortages in rural areas. The artisanal furnace built around an iron skeleton with a maximum temperature of 500 °C was chosen over the non-skeletonized artisanal furnace for activated carbon production. A filtration test on Dougba lake water with nitrate, turbidity and COD concentrations above the WHO standard (2011) identified nitrate as the limiting factor for the filters.
Read MoreForests are one of the most extensive terrestrial ecosystems which provides habitat for a vast array of plant and animal species. Over several centuries of human activities, the total forest area has decreased, and now forests cover 31% of the land area. Approximately half the forest area is relatively intact, and more than one third is occupied by primary forest. Nearly half of the world’s forests grow in five countries: Brazil, Canada, China, the Russian Federation, and the United States of America [9]. The importance of reforestation is undeniable since timber harvesting is gathering pace

Weeds on rice plants have a lot of negative impacts on plant productivity. The majority of approaches in controlling weeds in rice used herbicides including the use of glyphosate as a synthetic herbicide. However, using glyphosate in the long-term results in soil and water pollution accumulation, resulting in decreased soil fertility. This study aims to find new herbicide candidates by mimicking glyphosate's mechanism in inhibiting EPSP synthase, ACCase and photosystem II found in three types of weeds (broad-leaved and grasses and sedges). Representatives of the three types are Monochor

Lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) are a widely used energy storage technology as they possess high energy density and are characterized by the reversible intercalation/deintercalation of Li ions between electrodes. The rapid development of LIBs has led to increased production efficiency and lower costs for manufacturers, resulting in a growing demand for batteries and their application across various industries, particularly in different types of vehicles. In order to meet the demand for LIBs while minimizing climate-impacting emissions, the reuse, recycling, and repurposing of LIBs is a critica

Dyes (colorants) are used in many industrial applications, and effluents of several industries contain toxic dyes. Dyes exhibit toxicity to humans, aquatic organisms, and the environment. Therefore, dyes containing wastewater must be properly treated before discharging to the surrounding water bodies. Among several water treatment technologies, adsorption is the most preferred technique to sequester dyes from water bodies. Many studies have reported the removal of dyes from wastewater using biochar produced from different biomass, e.g., algae and plant biomass, forest, and domestic residues
